W I T N E S S E S began in 2011 with a simple painting of a stag, inspired by an intuited generational heritage, and became an every-growing body of work a decade later in 2021 with the addition of several other portraits after moving to Colorado. Being birthed from an intense spiritual awakening that could only come out of a global pandemic, the series offer a reflection back to the viewer of themselves. The works have even functioned for some as spiritual guides under the proper conditions of observation. The creatures are intentionally depicted in such a way that they are staring directly into the viewer, cutting through pretense and veiled pleasantries in order to gently confront the inner self and bring forth something true.
